In the Fall of 2008 I was given two exceptional gifts: the birth of my daughter and the financial implosion of the American economy. Both sparked clarity.
As a mom, I saw immediately how wonderful, and special, my child is. If you are a parent, or have ever loved a child, you know exactly what I mean. Each child is blessed with unlimited potential and the ability to make their life a masterpiece.
You and I were offered the same blessings: we simply may not be using our life to its fullest potential. The dim light of average seems to be something we choose to inflict upon ourselves. Make no mistake about it, you were born to do something special. You were born to succeed so that your success could bless others.
After being occupationally trained and blindly following the rules life had left me bored, unfulfilled and poor. Those were my definitions as on the surface it seemed the exact opposite was true.
Then the market crashed and took with it my hopes of quitting work. It also gave me the confidence to take charge of my finances. It was the greatest gift to lose over half of our liquid portfolios in our late 30's instead of our late 60's. I didn't know exactly what we would be doing but I knew what we would not be doing: handing our money over to the same financial planners who had helped created the financial mess in the first place.
I knew immediately I had to learn more so I could teach more. I would not kill my daughter's spirits with such depressing advice as: get a good education (with some nice debt attached) get a good job, follow everyone else's rules, save money, live below your means and hope you have enough to retire on one day in the far off future.
My commitment is to teach her the confidence to make her own choices, the confidence to follow through and the determination to succeed. I hope to teach her the necessary skills to overcome the many obstacles life will throw her way. I want to teach her that success is a journey, not a destination. I want her to realize that learning is an on-going process and it should never end.
And so now, I've decided I want the same for myself. Don't I deserve the same passion I am offering to her? Don't you? I'd like to invite you to come along, in case, you have been settling for less than you deserve. I am offering you the chance to intentionally design your own life, live life on your own terms..and get paid to do it.
